Jane McCourtI am a clinical social worker and have been practicing for over 25 years. I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Michigan in 1991 and my Ph.D. from Loyola University Chicago in 2009. I am an adjunct professor in Loyola University Chicago's School of Social Work and formerly in University of Chicago's School of Social Service Administration. My areas of interest and expertise are spirituality, women's issues, couple's counseling, marital and family therapy.

In 2011 I moved back to Chicago, my home town, after 25 years in the Detroit area of Michigan. My husband and I were married almost 40 years before losing him to cancer in April 2017. I understand very well the vicissitudes of life and loss and know, as Thich Nhat Hahn says, that we live on waves of birth and death. We raised five children and have 3 grandchildren with a 4th due in December, 2018.

I became a certified Bikram yoga instructor in 2003 and continue to practice Vinyasa yoga daily. I enjoy spending time with my children as well as my 4 siblings, their spouses and children when I'm not working in my private practice, teaching social work classes or doing yoga.
